SLING YOUR MEAT, at the Ohio Smoked Meat and Barbecue Festival, Fri, 10/18/19 and Sat, 10/19/19, Nelsonville, Ohio!!

YES, the “Ohio Smoked Meat and Barbecue Festival”, will be held on the 3rd weekend of October, on the historic Nelsonville Public Square. That is Friday, October 18, 2019 and Saturday, October 19, 2019. We apologize for the delay, but it has been a rebuilding and we are now ready to go. Get your application to compete and judge at http://www.ohiobbq.org.

The “Ohio and Smoked Meat and Barbeque Festival” originated in 1996 as the first official state of Ohio championship for smoked meat and BBQ, proclaimed by the governor of Ohio. The competition is sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society. Professional competitive BBQ teams from around the world will be competing in the following categories; chicken, pulled pork, pork ribs and beef brisket.  The teams will be competing for $10,000 in total cash prizes with the Grand Champion bringing home $2500.

The BARBECUE SPIRIT is alive and well in Nelsonville

With the support of our local community this event will be able to continue to be an outstanding autumn event in Southeast Ohio.  So please come on down to the Public Square in Nelsonville, Ohio the 3rd weekend of October and experience Ohio Barbecue at its finest.
