Team Applications, Updates

We still have open spaces for a few more teams.  The original deadline for teams was September 21st.  We are extending that to October 1st.  So, if you’re interested in competing, download the application form and return it to Amy as soon as possible.

We have not yet assigned spaces to teams.  Gas lines and other utilities are being replaced in downtown Nelsonville.  The project will be completed in the next 7 to 10 days.  After the contractors are done we will be marking spaces and assigning teams.

We are looking forward to seeing all the veteran teams and meeting the new teams next month.

Some new and exciting updates for 2018!

In addition to the Cabo Wabo competition we announced 2 weeks ago the Ohio Smoked Meat and BBQ Festival has another FRIDAY NIGHT competition to announce…..

We will be hosting an ACSA (American Competitive Steak Association) competition on Friday, October 19, 2018.  The exact time will be finalized soon.

We are still working on publishing the applications and will have those posted as soon a possible.

The important high points for this contest are:

  1. The ACSA contest is open to KCBS members AND the public.
  2. The entry fee is $100 per team.
  3. Each team will be provided two (2) Ribeye steaks Friday evening to cook and turn in.

One Last Thing….

With the addition of these great Friday evening opportunities for our Teams and the Public we will be closing the streets on earlier than we had initially announced.  Again, we will have more details as we finalize these details.

 

Our New Sponsor

 

cw09_clean_logoIt’s been finalized.  Cabo Wabo and Cabo Wabo Tequila will be the newest sponsor for The Ohio Smoked Meat and BBQ Festival!

As part of this sponsorship with Cabo Wabo there will be 2 additional contests this year.  These will be Friday evening events.

The first will be the Margarita Masters CaboRita competition.  Create your own special and unique margarita using Cabo Wabo Tequlia.

The second will be a Cabo Infused Grilled recipe competition.  Wow us with your own grilled recipe that uses Cabo Wabo Tequila.

Both of these will be open to all contestants.  The cost will be $35 and will allow you to enter both Cabo sponsored contests.  Each team will be provided one bottle of Cabo Wabo Blanco to use in the contest.  The head cook of each team must be at least 21 years of age.  First Prize for each category will be $250!

Applications will be separate from the KCBS entry form and will be available soon as well as the specific contest rules.

2018 Ohio Smoked Meat Applications are here!

Applications for the 2018 competition and vending are now available and are at the bottom of this post.  Please download the form and provide all necessary information.  For vendors, we need all 3 pages returned.  For teams, we only need the first page filled out and sent in.

Please read the forms carefully as there have been changes to both forms this year in an effort to make things more clearly stated.

We are currently working on final negotiations with a new sponsor who wants to bring some incredibly fun things to the competition this year.  As soon as everything is finalized we will be making an announcement.

Because of these potential changes we have not finalized the map and available space numbers yet.  We will be getting those out as soon as we get them done.
